Put these dates in your diary now!

Are you enjoying being back at work? I ask because, contrary to popular opinion, I am and hopefully lots of you feel like that too. Of course trying to get started last Wednesday was horrible but by Thursday I was right back in the swing of it. One of the reasons I like these first two weeks in January is that it is when I get organised for the year – everything from sorting out the filing cabinet to planning when I am going to implement my new ideas for my business this year – and yes that does mean more sticky coloured dots going on my epic wall planner!

But before I could get started on this I knew I needed to write this e-mail and as I was deciding what to write the phone rang….

…much later (we had lots to catch up on!) I put the phone down and knew exactly what to talk about because, in the course of our conversation, the person I was speaking to (a Coffee and Connect “Regular”) had mentioned some of the exciting projects they were about to start work on – for other Coffee and Connect “Regulars”.

The key word here of course is “Regular”.

Therefore my message today is very simple and one I have repeated many times before: The people that get the most out of networking are those that attend regularly because over time people:

  • Get to know you
  • Understand what you do
  • Develop confidence in your ability to do a professional job for them
